I.L.C promotes the development of knowledge and skills in the craft of Lapidary; collecting gemstones and mineral specimens, identifying these and processing them into jewellery and display items.
What is Lapidary
lapidary (the word means "concerned with stones") is an artisan who practices the craft of working, forming and finishing stone, mineral, gemstones, and other suitably durable materials (amber, shell, jet, pearl, copal, coral, horn and bone, glass and other synthetics) into functional and/or decorative, even wearable, items (e.g. cameos, cabochons, and more complex facetted designs).
The club is a social organisation concerned with lapidary work, fossicking,
jewellery making and the collection and study
of gemstones, minerals and fossils
Our Business and Social meetings are held in the clubrooms and commence at 7.30pm |
